TCMA Newsletter 2022-07-10
Greetings! The board of directors will be sharing community project updates and information with the membership when items become available with this new community newsletter. After the Wednesday, July 6th board meeting, here are a few items to share with you.

Weir Project behind Foxwood has finally been completed. The total expense of this repair was $78,000. There is currently a collapse of another weir, but that one is not very large, about 8-10’ and it is on Trinity Blvd. Due to the excessive water level, the repair cannot be accurately evaluated until the water level recedes. This will be monitored and an estimate for the repair will be forthcoming. There are approximately 30 weirs within the TCMA, and they are all monitored by Southwest Florida Water Management (SWFWMD).
Trinity community park – metal trash cans will be purchased and some minor stucco and paint repair will be done. The board has been requested to research some options to provide areas of shade.

The landscape contract for the entire TCMA was put out to bid by the consulting firm, OLM. Four (4) bids were obtained. The companies that were considered were: Redtree Landscaping, Nature’s Coast Landscape Services, Fieldstone Landscape Services and Yellowstone Landscape. After a complete review, the board of directors selected Nature’s Coast Landscape Services as the new landscape vendor providing the contract is reviewed by legal counsel and satisfies all requirements. Therefore, a start date has not yet been determined, but as soon as that date becomes available, it will be posted on the website.

The quality of Gardaworld security services was discussed. The board members were notified of a change in a few services that had been offered by the previous company, Critical Intervention Services (CIS), which was acquired by Gardaworld. The board members have now been informed that their guards will not respond to a “call for services,” engage with an intruder, or parking violations. The company also has insisted that all neighborhood associations must have the same set of rules to enforce, an “all or nothing” principle. The general consensus of the board was that these changes render Gardaworld’s service as inferior. The board will be reviewing services by other companies and will revisit this topic after the research has been done. Parking on the street is prohibited in the TCMA community in accordance with county regulations. Several communities have instituted a ‘tow policy’ in an effort to handle homeowners who abuse parking restrictions. This is an option for all communities. The streets need to remain clear for all emergency vehicles and service vehicles.

The new dedicated website for the TCMA that was approved by the board members in the first quarter is near completion Dennis Monroe has been instrumental in creating the website and has devoted many hours to transferring numerous files from the Melrose Management website to the new site. The new website will be user-friendly and will provide meeting information, newsletters, governing documents, forms, and several items that will be useful to all owners, board members and new owners that make Trinity/Fox Hollow their home from another location. An announcement will be made on the Melrose Management website when this launched.
Committees – Three (3) new committees were appointed; Architectural/Landscaping; Finance and Website. The members that had submitted their names to volunteer were selected as follows:
Website – Dennis Monroe
Finance – Charles D’Angelo and Tom Skiratko
Architectural/Landscaping – Debbie Garau, Nancy Holste, Brigitte Salvati, Valarie Schroder, Tony Ieni, Cookie Malanda, Mike Miller, and Chris Minnick

Each committee will serve as an advisory group. The goal is to provide more involvement in the community. We are looking forward to working as a team! If you have any interest, or know of neighbors that might like to serve on a committee, an email can be sent to: management@melrose-support.com with your contact information and short bio about yourself and how you might be able to help. You may also specify which committee would best interest you.

Some of the topics that are still active and were discussed as future projects:
1. Reserve study for the TCMA is in progress, results have not been submitted yet.
2. Budget for 2023 – will be worked on in conjunction with reserve study results.
3. Fountains at the front entrance – due to age and cost to operate (power & repairs), new bids
will be sought to understand current costs and whether new fountains would be more
energy efficient and would reduce the power expense.
4. Trinity Blvd – Pasco County has announced plans that in 2030, Trinity Blvd will be
widened to 4 lanes; no action required, just a FYI only.

Living in Florida has many benefits and as we enjoy summer, we cannot forget it is hurricane season. Getting familiar with evacuation plans with your family and having extra supplies on hand can be beneficial if a storm approaches.

We hope to be announcing the availability of the new website very shortly.

Jim Levero, President
